National Coalition of Nigeria Youths in Social Development

Objectives:

• Establish a vibrant national network of credible young people actively involved in different social development work in Nigeria with credible categorisation.
• Facilitate a strong support, funding and partnership between Federal Ministry of Youth Development, Development Partners and young people in social development work in Nigeria in a measurable way annually.
• Identify areas of needs of member youth organisations and organise capacity building programs to address those areas of needs for improved capacity and impact delivery.
• Facilitate flow of information on institutional building, funding opportunities, workshops, exchange programs, national issues etc neccessary for effective engagement.
• Facilitate mentoring among youth organisations and youth leaders as well as solidarity with member youth organisation whenever the need arises.
• Facilitate a platform for measuring the impact of young people involved in social development are contributing to Nigeria on an annual basis.

Opportunity to Serve – State and Zonal Coordinators Position Open, Apply today

The Coalition is looking for interested passionate young people willing to serve in the position of Volunteer State and Zonal Coordinators to bring its activities to live. The Coalition intends to be an active body engaging beyond the online platform, part of our intention is to carry along those in the rural areas and grassroots and those not very involved in the internet community. Thus we intend to have a coordinator in each state and a zonal coordinator covering each of the 6 geo political zones of Nigeria:

Responsibilities

State Coordinators

State Coordinators shall be responsible for spreading the word about the coalition in their state and to mobilise youth organisations to become members.

They shall also be responsible for ensuring that youth organisations in their states are well informed and involved in all coalition ACTIVITIES, especially the forthcoming baseline survey to ascertain the needs of youth organisations in their state.

State Coordinators shall also be responsible for conducting step down activities in their states to benefits coalition members in its states after attending national or international meetings, among others.

Zonal Coordinators

Shall be responsible for coordinating all the states under their zones to ensure that the state coordinators are working within approved guidelines and the coalition is active in each state under the zone.

NOTE:    State and Zonal Coordinators are to serve fully on VOLUNTARY BASIS without any financial remuneration because the coalition is not yet a funded platform.

Eligibility

• An applicant must be a member of the Coalition
• An application must be from an operating, active, legal and organised youth organisation in Nigeria
• Must be aged between 18-35years
• Should have experience and passion for youth mobilisation and development.
